This role offers an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader to manage a small team and drive automation initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Role:
As the Automation Manager, you will take on a key leadership position within the company, focusing on the implementation, optimisation, and maintenance of automated systems. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team of engineers and technicians, ensuring that automation processes are efficient, reliable, and aligned with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a small team of engineers and technicians.
- Design, implement, and refine automation systems to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Manage automation projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they meet timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and develop innovative solutions.
- Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operation.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in automation
- Ensure all automation activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Candidate Profile:
- Experience in automation within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and developing a team.
- Hands-on experience with automation technologies including PLCs, robotics, and control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Project management experience with a demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
