Head of Engineering - Glasgow

We are looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our Design and Production Engineering Teams. This key leadership role will collaborate with various departments to drive product and process improvements, ensuring efficient engineering-to-production transitions and a focus on cost reduction through Design for Manufacture. The successful candidate will lead agile product development and ensure the team is first to market with new designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of technical designs and generate key outputs (e.g., SOPs).
• Manage risks and issues and ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Chair engineering gate reviews and support continuous team development.
• Identify and implement product improvements and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Maintain effective communication with production, supply chain, and other departments.
• Mentor engineers and ensure alignment with strategic KPIs.
• Develop and manage KPIs to drive team success and operational excellence.

Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong expertise in CAD, Lean, and Six Sigma.
• Proven leadership skills and experience in project management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
